SEN Teaching Assistant - Independent Specialist School (11-16)Salary: £24,500 - £25,900 | Full-time: 37.5 hours/weekLocation: Scunthorpe | Ofsted Rating: Good Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people? Our client, an independent specialist school in Scunthorpe, is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support students aged 11-16 with social, emotional, and mental health needs. Many pupils have EHCPs and benefit from tailored support for needs such as ADHD and ASD. The school provides a calm, structured, and nurturing environment for young people who have found mainstream education challenging, helping them re-engage with learning and achieve positive outcomes.What You'll Do
* Assist pupils with learning activities, adapting support to individual needs under teacher guidance.
* Support pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development using trauma-informed approaches.
* Help manage behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy and Staff Code of Conduct.
* Encourage pupil engagement, independence, and confidence in learning tasks.
What We're Looking For
* Experience supporting pupils in an educational or care setting.
* Experience working with pupils with SEND and complex needs.
* Awareness of safeguarding, behaviour management, and SEND principles.
* Ability to support teaching and learning effectively under supervision.
* Patience, empathy, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
