Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our busy Property Department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build or develop a career in property law, with hands-on experience in residential and/or commercial transactions.
Initial Focus:
The successful candidate will primarily assist with
post-exchange and completion matters
, supporting the team in ensuring transactions are processed efficiently and in line with legal and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Managing post-exchange procedures, including preparing completion statements and handling pre-completion checklists
* Liaising with clients, solicitors, lenders, and other stakeholders during the completion process
* Assisting with submission of SDLT forms and Land Registry applications
* Ensuring accurate and timely processing of documents and correspondence
* Maintaining and updating internal case management systems
* Supporting fee earners and solicitors as needed
Future Development:
Following initial training, responsibilities may expand to include:
* Opening new files and conducting conflict checks
* Assisting with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Client (KYC) checks
* Preparing initial client care packs and documentation
Key Skills & Attributes:
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
* Strong written and verbal communication
* Ability to manage deadlines and handle multiple tasks
* A proactive and team-oriented approach
* Experience in a legal environment is desirable but not essential
Qualifications:
* A degree in Law or completion of a legal qualification (e.g. LPC/SQE) is desirable, but not required
* Previous property or conveyancing experience is a plus
