As the strategic lead for NFU's relationships with food supply chain stakeholders, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how British farming connects with retail, public, and hospitality sectors. You will serve as the internal authority and gatekeeper for NFU's key relationships, ensuring alignment between advocacy work and the evolving needs of the food industry.
Responsibilities include:
* Developing and influencing policies that benefit farming businesses across the UK, responding to national and international developments and advising NFU members.
* Building and managing relationships with government ministers, civil servants, the media, and local NFU branches.
* Leading a dynamic team, empowering them to deliver impactful work, managing budgets and stakeholder relationships.
* Diagnosing challenges and developing evidence‑based policy solutions that support the reputation and development of British sourcing.
* Representing NFU at high‑profile events, media engagements, and public speaking engagements.
Qualifications:
* Deep understanding of the UK food supply chain.
* Experience in stakeholder engagement, policy development, and strategic relationship management.
* Proven leadership skills, ability to inspire and guide teams.
* Excellent public speaking and media engagement skills.
* Passion for supporting British farmers and growers, commitment to sustainable, fair, and future‑facing supply chain practices.
