How you’ll make a difference

Working in the Community Safety team, you will provide a range of administrative and technical support work, helping to ensure the delivery of a wide range of projects and initiatives such as tackling community safety priorities such as anti‑social behaviour.


What you will be doing

* You will be involved with the day‑to‑day operation and management of the council's CCTV systems across a range of services. Working with key partners such as Avon and Somerset Constabulary, you will help tackle crime to allow vulnerable residents and communities to stay safe across South Gloucestershire.
* Daily, you will be the main point of contact for the Community Safety team and the designated CCTV Officer, providing effective administrative support.
* It will be key for you to provide support to the CCTV Officer in the planning and co‑ordination of the supply and monitoring of CCTV and assist with maintaining budgets/financial information and resources.
* You will help arrange multi‑agency meetings of both internal and external groups such as police, social workers and schools to help improve tensions within the local community.
* It will be your responsibility to maintain records and analyse information to ensure compliance with data protection and the relevant legislation.
* You will help the team respond quickly to issues within the community and provide reassurance to residents.


What we need from you

* You must hold a minimum of 3 GCSEs (grade 4 or above) including English and maths or an equivalent qualification, or have relevant experience in administering confidential records and databases.
* It is essential for you to demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with service users as well as professionals and partnership agencies using a variety of media such as email, phone, face‑to‑face, taking minutes etc.
* You will have practical skills and experience in using a range of IT packages with experience in using databases, including running standard reports, analysing data and presenting findings.


What you need to know

* This role is hybrid, with a mixture of working at our office in Badminton Road, Yate and from home.
* Please note that due to the nature of this role, it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained.

Interviews will take place on Tuesday 2nd December 2025.
