Main Duties and Responsibilities As the Examinations Officer, you will be the guardian of the school’s examination integrity. Your responsibilities will include: Strategic Planning: Creating and managing the annual examinations calendar, ensuring all internal mocks and external GCSE/A-Level exams are scheduled efficiently and communicated clearly to staff, students, and parents. Entries and Registrations: Coordinating the accurate and timely submission of all candidate entries to awarding bodies (e.g., AQA, Edexcel, OCR), ensuring all deadlines are met to avoid late fees and discrepancies. Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring the school is fully compliant with all JCQ regulations. Logistics and Resource Management: Overseeing the physical setup of exam venues, the distribution and collection of papers, and the secure dispatch of completed scripts for marking. Results and Certification: Managing the secure download and distribution of results on designated results days in August, and overseeing the accurate distribution of certificates to students. You should possess: Administrative Expertise: Proven experience in a high-level administrative role, ideally as an Examinations Officer or Assistant in a school or college setting. Knowledge of Regulations: A deep understanding of the JCQ General Regulations and the ability to interpret and apply complex guidelines. ICT and Data Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and experience using school Management Information Systems (such as SIMS, Bromcom, or Arbor) to manage large data sets.
