We are seeking to establish a pool of School Officers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Challis Community Primary School (PS) is in a low socioeconomic area, attracting students from a wide range of backgrounds. Our demographic includes a high percentage of First Nations and English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EAL/D) students.

Challis Community PS believes in enabling students to reach their academic, social and emotional potential whilst becoming valuable members of the community. As a school community our mission is to deliver an excellent standard of education that supports students to achieve results equal to, or above state norms. Our school provides high quality education, alongside innovative programs and services, which cater to the needs of each individual child and their family. Challis Community PS is unique in offering health and education services from birth, with formal schooling ranging from 3-Year-Old Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6.

Our school's teaching programs allow all children to develop the necessary knowledge and skills to become confident learners. We pride ourselves on offering effective, individualised Literacy and Numeracy programs. We also offer a variety of specialist subjects including Music, Science, History, Physical Education and Health. The Role

We are seeking to appoint friendly and enthusiastic School Officers to join our team at Challis Community PS.

The positions we fill will be responsible for a variety of the roles described. Suitable applicants should have a proactive and collaborative approach to supporting school operations. They should have strong attention to detail and experience in providing effective administrative support with the ability to organise and prioritise tasks effectively. Applicants with experience in financial processes and procedures, including the handling of debtors, creditors, reconciliations and or preparing financial returns are highly desired, as is experience with processing leave and relief on HRMIS, RM Billing, Integris, and Compass – Kaartdijin Program.

In addition to financial management, the School Officer would ideally assist with the management of school assets. This includes overseeing the administration of out-of-hours use of school facilities, coordinating, and negotiating maintenance and repairs and manage the schools’ gardeners. The professional learning budget is another area the School Officer will ideally be required to manage, including booking staff into professional learning, travel, and accommodation. Ideally you will coordinate events and catering when required. Suitable applicants will support the principal to with regards to partnerships and public relations (PR) requirements. It would be an advantage for the suitable applicants to have a willingness to take on new applications and processes which may be required by the school. Suitable applicants are ideally required to assist with reception and front office duties, process student enrolments, and attendance records as required.
