Role: Assistant Service Manager
Location: Henllan, Denbighshire
Hours: Full time 37 hours per week; shifts include weekends and sleep-ins
Salary: £27,224 per annum; sleep-in shifts at £60 per night; travel expenses paid at 45p per mile
Contract: Permanent

What you’ll be doing
We have a 4-bedroom bungalow with 4 residents, 2 of whom are nonverbal, 1 with epilepsy, all with complex needs. The role involves supporting the Service Manager to manage the service and our colleagues, including finance checks, medication checks, rotas, protocols, and supporting staff daily planners to follow our policies and procedures.
You’ll be visible in day-to-day operations, supporting duties in line with the needs of the people we support. You’ll work shifts on a rota basis including sleep-ins. In the absence of the Service Manager, you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the service, provide leadership and management to the team, monitor performance, conduct one-to-ones and appraisals, and hold team meetings.
You’ll enjoy building positive relationships with all stakeholders and putting our vision and values into action to deliver a first-class service. Your focus will be on achieving the highest levels of independence for the people we support, and on organising and modelling that support in an innovative, person-centred and flexible way to make everyday remarkable.

Who we are looking for
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
* Experience supporting people with learning difficulties in a social care setting
* Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or actively working towards)
* A strong caring nature to support others to live an enriched life and fulfil their potential
* Working knowledge of the Care Council for Wales Code of Practice
* Flexibility to work shifts and provide cover as required
* A full driving licence (essential) and willingness to travel for meetings and training
* Access to your own car and willingness to use it for transporting people we support to activities; you must obtain business insurance for your vehicle (we pay 45p per mile)
