The post holder is expected to be able to assume responsibility for the daily management of the clinical areas to which you have responsibility for, namely the post natal ward.
Exercise professional judgement to manage risk appropriately, especially where there may be complex and unpredictable events and supporting teams to do likewise to ensure safety of individuals, families and carers.
Take responsibility for service improvement within the postnatal service with support from senior obstetric Medical colleagues.
Demonstrate visible, credible and effective team leadership, resilience and determination, managing situations that are unfamiliar, complex or unpredictable and seeking to build confidence in others.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Professional registration with relevant professional body
2. Recognised teaching or mentoring qualification
3. Masters level Advanced Clinical Practice/Equivalent Masters
4. Non-medical prescriber
Desirable criteria
5. Recognition as Advanced Practitioner by the National Centre for Advancing Practice
6. History taking and physical assessment of complex health and social care needs course at masters level.
Experience
Essential criteria
7. Demonstrable experience of working independently at a Band 7 Clinical role within relevant specialty
8. Participation in research and experience of critical appraisal of the evidence base to inform practice
9. Managing defined caseload of patients
10. Experience of teaching, mentoring and developing staff
11. Experience of service and practice development and managing change
Desirable criteria
12. Experience of working across organisational boundaries
13. Teaching staff from other professions
14. Publication/Conference Experience
