Maintenance Technicians
We are seeking experienced Maintenance Technicians to join a fast-paced department in Solihull.
Our client is a world-leading automotive manufacturer specializing in prestige and high-value vehicles. With a rich heritage and an innovative future, they operate two of the world's most iconic brands, continually pushing boundaries and setting industry standards.
These roles are initially offered on a 3-month contract, with the possibility of extension to 12 months and potential permanent opportunities for suitable candidates.
This multi-skilled position offers a unique chance to join a highly skilled maintenance team. The manufacturing facility features advanced technologies including automated robots, laser systems, conveyors, and complex tooling.
As a Maintenance Technician, your responsibilities include:
* Performing preventive and corrective maintenance as per schedules
* Diagnosing and rectifying faults on plant and equipment
* Identifying root causes to improve asset performance and reliability
* Responding swiftly to plant breakdowns, adhering to safety and procedural standards
* Supporting Kaizen activities and continuous improvement initiatives
* Maintaining 5S and workplace organization standards
* Applying lean manufacturing techniques to optimize processes
* Implementing process modifications and updating documentation
* Providing technical support for problem-solving activities
The ideal candidate will have:
* A recognized apprenticeship with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in engineering maintenance
* Strong electrical and mechanical skills and experience in fault diagnosis
* Experience with planned and reactive maintenance in an industrial setting
* Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics
* Excellent analytical and organizational skills
* Flexibility and teamwork skills to adapt to changing priorities
* A proactive, results-oriented attitude with a can-do approach
* Experience with automation, robotics, welding, conveyors, and mechanical systems
* Knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLCs and control systems; experience with ABB robots is a plus
* Lean manufacturing experience, including TPM, 5S, Kaizen, and PPS
* Experience with CMMS platforms and understanding of PUWER regulations
* Experience in high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing environments; automotive experience is advantageous but not essential
Shift Pattern: Rotating 3-shift schedule: Mornings, Afternoons, Days
Pay: Overtime rates apply for weekends.
