Logistics Services Assistant
Site – Burnley General Teaching Hospital
Grade – Band 2
Hours – 37.5 Night team, 7 on 7 off
Salary – 24169
Responsibilities
Ensure collection and delivery of goods, food, waste including clinical waste throughout the Trust is removed and disposed of following strict policy and standard operating practices over the 24/7 period.
Replace medical gas cylinders, remove empty ones in various areas of the Trust and ensure safe transportation and storage procedures are followed.
Perform daily pharmacy, pathology and various other stock/top up and collection runs during the working day, which may include handling blood and other sample products in sealed containers.
Support offsite logistics teams in delivering and collecting from GP’s and clinics in the local area.
Hold a current UK driving licence. Advantageous if you have a driver Certificate of Professional Competence and category C1.
Assessment and Interview
Take part in a practical assessment, short reading and writing test to assess your ability to read and retain information.
Undergo a driving assessment. Offer of employment subject to satisfactory completion of a driving assessment and annual driving assessment to retain employment.

Please note, although this role is being advertised by East Lancashire Hospitals Trust, it will transfer to OneLSC a Corporate Collaboration hosted by East Lancashire Hospitals Trust on 1.11.24. There are no plans to change the location of the role.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, physically fit individual who is capable of moving and handling goods of varying sizes, shapes and weights and who is also capable of walking quite a few miles in a day, every day to join our busy team who work across 24/7.
We are a very busy department providing logistical movements of goods, including postal service on site, across sites and around the East Lancashire area with the very occasional patient transport duty off site. You will be based as per this advert however you may be required to work from any of the ELHT sites.
