Summary
This role will provide learning in entry‑level accounting and VAT. You will work in a city centre office and be taught how the accounting process works, starting with bookkeeping and progressing to creating full financial accounts.
Wage
£15,600 for the first year, with potential increase depending on age.
Hours
4 days in office, 1 day in college. 37 hours 30 minutes per week.

What you'll do at work
* Balance bank accounts – enter client information into spreadsheets to analyse income and expenses for the financial year.
* Compute VAT each month – calculate amounts owed for clients.
* Deal with new clients and handle accounting records.
* Learn the basic principles of accountancy, such as double‑entry bookkeeping, costing, preparing financial statements, and using accountancy software.

* Record transactional data.
* Use the organisation's standard tools and processes to examine data and identify transactional issues such as reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
* Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
* Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
* Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon and tailoring language to the audience.
* Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data.
* Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, including backing up data securely.
Requirements
Essential qualifications: GCSE in English (grade 6) and Maths (grade 5).
