Gastroenterology - Upper GI Nurse - BAND 7
37.5 HRS PER WEEK - Permanent
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse to develop advanced skills in managing patients with Upper GI cancer. You will work with a multidisciplinary team, contributing to a high-quality, patient-centered service, including organization and participation in weekly MDT meetings and outpatient clinics.
The successful candidate will have previous post-registration clinical experience in caring for patients with cancer. Essential skills include excellent literacy, communication, organization, and leadership. Applicants should be prepared to work within a flexible environment. ENB 998 and basic IT skills are required.
As part of the Gastroenterology Nursing Team, you will be supported in developing an understanding of the psycho-social needs of those affected by cancer, and the importance of advanced communication skills and the Supportive and Palliative Care Strategy (NICE 2004).
Your role will involve strategic patient care, supporting colleagues, and implementing interventions to prevent potential problems and minimize crises for patients and their carers. A key aspect of this role is developing skills to work across professional boundaries in both primary and secondary care, with confidence and competence in clinical assessment and decision-making.
