Job Description:
We have a new permanent opportunity for a UK-qualified solicitor (approximately 6 years PQE) with substantial insurance litigation experience, gained in private practice or in-house, to work as a Senior Legal Counsel (Litigation) for a high-profile Lloyd's Insurance market broker in the City of London.
Salary and Benefits: Up to £140,000 plus a comprehensive range of benefits. This is a hybrid role, requiring presence in their London office at least one day per week. There is also an option to work four days per week (pro-rata).
This role requires insurance industry experience, as you will provide legal advice to the senior leadership team, specifically regarding Errors and Omissions claims (E&O) and commercial disputes.
The primary goal is to minimize and manage legal risks and reputational damage to the business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage end-to-end E&O claims: advising, managing, and resolving notified E&O matters, including liaising with insurers.
* Coordinate with Group stakeholders, including the Group legal team, for escalation and reporting of E&O issues.
* Collaborate with other functions to identify E&O trends and risk mitigation strategies, considering various risk factors in business operations.
* Oversee external legal counsel and control external legal expenses.
Essential Experience:
* In-house experience within the London Insurance market.
* Proven track record managing complex disputes, including cross-border jurisdictional issues.
* Expertise in insurance law and coverage disputes, with a focus on the London Market, particularly Lloyd’s brokers.
* Preferred experience dealing with E&O claims against insurance brokers or professionals.
