Job Title: Natural Feathers Quilt Filler Location: Ashton-In-Makerfield Job Type: Full-Time Reports to: Production Supervisor Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and physically fit individual to join our manufacturing team as a Natural Feathers Quilt Filler. This role involves loading feather-filling hoppers, manually filling quilts to precise specifications, and inputting weights and quantities into production records. The job requires frequent bending, stretching, and handling of natural feathers in a fast-paced environment. Shifts are 6am-2pm rotating 2pm-10pm Key Responsibilities: Load natural feathers into machine hoppers as per production requirements Manually fill quilt casings with natural feathers to meet designated weight and fill levels Ensure even feather distribution across quilt compartments Input accurate weights and fill quantities into production logs or digital systems Verify that each product meets required weight, quality, and consistency standards Perform regular quality checks and flag any inconsistencies or faults Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working area Engage in frequent bending, stretching, and lifting throughout the shift Follow health and safety guidelines, particularly around the handling of natural feather materials Requirements: Good level of physical fitness - ability to bend, stretch, lift, and stand for extended periods Strong attention to detail, especially when weighing and measuring materials Ability to accurately input weights and quantities into records or digital systems Comfortable working with natural feather or down materials (PPE provided) Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently or as part of a team Basic numeracy skills and an understanding of weights and measurements Previous experience in textile or soft furnishings production is an advantage Desirable: Experience using feather filling equipment or working with natural filling materials Familiarity with production tracking systems or basic computer input Background in quality control or working to weight-specific product standards Job Types: Full-time, Temp to perm Pay: £12.21 per hour Schedule: Monday to Friday
