Job Summary
Health & Beyond are seeking an experienced physiotherapist, advanced practice physiotherapist, or senior physiotherapist to join the MSK First Contact Practitioners team. The role is 32.5 hours per week and is available at Band 6 (£19.78 – £23.82 per hour) or Band 7 (£24.45 – £27.98 per hour). Applicants will work in a clinical GP setting across three Primary Care Networks, with travel required between Wolverhampton and Bilston.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as a first‑contact practitioner for musculoskeletal conditions, making independent clinical decisions, diagnosing and managing patients without prior GP contact.
* Manage a complex caseload, including patients with long‑term conditions, co‑morbidities, and multifactorial needs.
* Provide clinical expertise, including advanced assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning, and outline appropriate investigations such as X‑rays and blood tests.
* Deliver and monitor patient self‑management programmes and behavioural change interventions.
* Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to streamline pathways and improve service delivery.
* Maintain professional accountability through HCPC registration and engage in evidence‑based practice, peer review, and continuous professional development.
* Attend to financial responsibilities by managing resources responsibly and contributing to departmental financial targets.
* Support training and development of junior staff and students, ensuring compliance with HCPC, CSP, and HEE requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
* Current HCPC and CSP registration as a physiotherapist.
* Minimum five years of postgraduate musculoskeletal physiotherapy experience, preferably in public settings.
* Evidence of advanced clinical examination skills, recognising MSK masquerades and bone tumours.
* Experience as an FCP/APP/ESP (essential).
* Non‑medical prescriber experience and injection therapy competency are desirable.
* Masters‑level modules or equivalent training related to FCP competencies.
* Demonstrated competence in ordering medical imaging.

* Flexible working arrangements, including full and part‑time posts.
* Occasional evenings, weekends, and extended access hours may be required.
* Travel within Wolverhampton, Bilston, and the Black Country area is necessary.
