A specialist setting catering for students aged 4 to 16 - a wide age range!
The main need the students present with is Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
There are also overlapping needs, such as mental health and social and emotional needs.
The school focus on a very child centred approach - ensuring that each child feels supported and able to access their education in the same way as their peers
Each student has their own dedicated intervention plan, specifically set out with their own targets
The role includes working with a student, or a small group of students, 1 to 1
You will ensure that all students are following their intervention plans, while supporting them with reaching their individual targets and age-appropriate milestones!
You will also support their mental health by modelling healthy coping strategies and helping them work through their emotionsMany of the students at this school have a difficult time accessing their education. This school place a huge importance on ensuring that every child feels included, and that they are getting the most from their education!
