sector. The Role We are seeking a highly capable
Fleet Operations Lead
to take ownership of a fleet of approximately
750 vehicles
across multiple operational companies. This
individual contributor
position plays a pivotal role in overseeing daily fleet operations, ensuring compliance, driving cost efficiencies, and leading environmental initiatives across the division. Location:
This is a full-time role based in
Leicester, with occasional travel to operational sites as required. ️
Key Responsibilities Ensure full compliance with UK vehicle legislation, HSE standards, ESG reporting, and accreditation schemes (e.g. FORS) Maintain up-to-date records for all vehicles and drivers, including Tax, MOT, servicing, and insurance Lead on audits, inspections, and fleet-related risk assessments Manage the procurement, replacement, and disposal of vehicles, working with divisional MDs and external providers Monitor vehicle utilization and deployment, providing insights to optimise fleet efficiency Manage third-party supplier relationships (fleet, maintenance, telematics, insurance, fuel), holding vendors accountable for service levels and cost control Collaborate with finance and operations to plan and manage fleet budgets (CapEx/OpEx) Champion initiatives to reduce environmental impact while maintaining an effective and fit-for-purpose fleet Candidate Requirements Demonstrable experience managing fleets of 500+ vehicles Strong knowledge of UK transport legislation, fleet compliance, and accreditation schemes (e.g. FORS or similar) Skilled in using fleet management systems, data analytics, and telematics Proven track record in vendor management and contract negotiation Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders Leicester (Flexible arrangement, hybrid) Individual Contributor Role
