As a Cloud Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in enabling secure, resilient and scalable digital services across Anglian Water. Working within our Platform Engineering function, you’ll act as a subject matter expert in Microsoft Azure cloud implementation, with a particular focus on Azure networking. You’ll bridge the gap between our core cloud platform and the teams delivering digital products and services. What you'll be doing • Designing, deploying and managing Azure networking services including VNETs, subnets, NSGs, Azure Firewall, Private Endpoints and VNET peering • Acting as the technical lead for cloud network implementation across projects • Collaborating with Cyber Security teams to implement network security policies • Deploying Azure infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines • Supporting project and product teams by delivering secure, operationally robust cloud environments • Monitoring platform health, performance and capacity using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics • Participating in incident response, problem management and root cause analysis • Automating operational tasks to improve reliability and reduce manual effort • Creating and maintaining technical documentation and standards • Mentoring colleagues and contributing to a collaborative engineering culture What does it take to be successful? • Extensive hands-on experience deploying and managing Azure PaaS and IaaS services • Deep expertise in Azure networking and security • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Bicep, Terraform ) • Strong scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Azure CLI) • Experience using CI/CD pipelines, ideally Azure DevOps • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly • A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous learning Benefits • 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays (increasing with length of service) • Flexible working options • Private health care • Competitive pension scheme – Anglian Water double-matches contributions up to 6% • Life assurance at eight times your salary • Annual bonus • Potential funded car allowance depending on evidenced business mileage • Personal medical assessments • Virtual GP service • Cancer screening • Financial wellbeing support and salary finance benefits • Lifestyle savings including discounts on retail, travel and utilities • Employee Assistance Programme • Volunteer days Inclusion at Anglian Water We’re committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels they belong.
