Role Description
This is a full-time role for a PLC Programmer based in Portsmouth. The role involves designing, programming, and troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to ensure seamless integration into Marine systems. Responsibilities include creating detailed control system documentation, conducting system testing, collaborating with project teams, and providing technical support. Ensuring system reliability and optimizing performance are critical components of this role.
The candidate must be suitable for Security Clearance (managed by CRS).
Qualifications
* Proficiency in PLC programming languages (e.g. Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagram, Structured Text)
* Experience with control systems development, troubleshooting, and integration
* Strong understanding of electrical and automation principles, including hardware and software integration
* Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
* Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate within a team
* Flexibility to adapt to hybrid working conditions (office and remote)
* Relevant certifications or technical qualifications in automation or electrical engineering are a plus
