About the Role Teaching Personnel is seeking a passionate and resilient Art Teacher to work within a specialist educational setting in the Tonbridge area. The school supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, many of whom may display challenging behaviour and require a highly supportive, structured learning environment. This role is ideal for an experienced teacher who is confident in managing behaviour positively and creatively, and who understands how art can be used as a powerful tool to support emotional expression, engagement, and personal development. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging Art lessons that are accessible, differentiated, and tailored to meet the needs of pupils with SEMH needs. Use creative approaches to encourage self-expression, confidence, and emotional regulation through art. Manage and respond effectively to challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies and trauma-informed approaches. Create a safe, inclusive, and structured classroom environment that supports student wellbeing and learning. Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral staff, and leadership to support pupils’ individual learning and behaviour plans.
