Job Summary
The Manager of Sterile Processing is responsible for managing, organizing, and supervising the sterile processing areas, case cart delivery, instrument delivery, core sterilization processes, and related functions to ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as CMS, DNV, AORN, and AMMI. The role involves supporting professional practice, quality initiatives, and clinical governance within the department.
Minimum Job Qualifications
* Licensed as an RN in Georgia or hold a relevant healthcare certification within two years of hire.
* BSN or MSN for RNs; Associates Degree in a healthcare-related field, Bachelor's preferred for non-RNs.
* Management experience in SPD in an acute care setting: 3 years with a Bachelor's Degree or 5 years with an Associates Degree.
* Membership in a professional organization within one month of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
* Master's Degree in Nursing or related field within five years of hire.
Skills and Abilities
* Leadership and team-building skills.
* Positive engagement with staff.
* Proficiency in Word, Excel, and related software.
* Professionalism in communication and demeanor.
* Understanding of healthcare finance and budgeting.
Responsibilities
* Manage departmental operations and fiscal resources.
* Oversee sterilization and instrument processing activities.
* Ensure compliance with sterilization standards and regulatory requirements.
* Participate in educational programs and performance improvement activities.
* Handle human resource functions including staffing, hiring, and evaluations.
Physical Demands
* Lift up to 50 lbs, frequent standing, walking, pushing, and pulling.
