Main duties of the job
We are looking to appoint a receptionist to join our busy GP practice who will be the first point of contact for patients, contractors, and visitors as well as carrying out general office management tasks.
You will be responsible for the general reception duties within the Practice and work with our established processes, policies and procedures to provide a comprehensive high-quality service and deal efficiently and courteously with patient enquiries.
About us
We have six partner GPs, 5 salaried GPs, a Practice Manager, an Assistant Practice Manager, Nurse Practitioners, clinical pharmacist, 3 Practice Nurses, 3 Health Care Assistants, 2 Secretaries and a large team of reception/admin a training practice for undergraduates, GP Registrars, physician associates and UCLAN medical students we are able to offer supportive mentoring and training / development opportunities.

You will receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriateservice or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
You will provide general assistance to the practice team and project apositive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person orvia the telephone.
You will have excellent communication skills, a compassionate andfriendly nature who can operate in a busy environment with a range of peopleand professions, as you will be working our clinical and administration teams.
This role is ideal for someone who is highly organised and an effectivecommunicator who can provide a professional and warm welcome to our patients,ensuring every contact is of the highest quality.

Experience
Essential
1. General office skills, photocopier, scanning, shredding
2. Awareness of Data Protection Act and need for confidentiality of Information
3. Attention to detail, able to work accurately, identifying errors quickly and easily
4. Has a planned and organised approach with an ability to prioritise their own workload to meet strict deadlines
5. Excellent understanding of data protection and confidentiality issues
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with team members, patients, carers, and other healthcare professionals, with the ability to adjust communication style
7. Committed to own continuing personal development and an ability to support others to develop and progress

8. Experience of working in a medical or primary care setting
9. Computer literate with an ability to use the required GP clinical systems

10. GCSEs at grade C or equivalent (or 4-9), including English and Maths
11. Training in administration/clerical duties at NVQ level or above
12. NVQ Level 2/3 in Customer Services or Health Care or related discipline
