Science Teacher – Alternative Provision (Secondary) Hull Start Date: Easter Term Full-Time | Long-Term Opportunity M1 to UPS3 GSL Education are seeking a passionate and resilient Science Teacher to join a specialist secondary Alternative Provision in Hull from the Easter term. This is a rewarding opportunity to teach and support students who require a more personalised, structured approach to education. About the School: This well-established Alternative Provision caters for secondary-aged students who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream settings. Many learners present with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs), behavioural challenges, gaps in learning, and additional needs. The school provides a supportive and structured environment with small class sizes, strong pastoral care, and a focus on re-engagement with education. Staff prioritise relationship-building, restorative approaches, and consistent behaviour management to help students rebuild confidence and achieve meaningful qualifications. The curriculum is carefully adapted to meet individual needs, with a strong emphasis on core subjects, vocational pathways, and preparation for reintegration or post-16 progression. The Role as a Science Teacher: Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across KS3 and KS4 Differentiate learning to meet a range of academic abilities and SEMH needs Build positive, professional relationships with students Manage behaviour effectively using consistent and restorative approaches Track and monitor student progress towards GCSE or alternative qualifications Work collaboratively with pastoral and leadership teams Contribute to a supportive and inclusive school culture The ideal candidate will be confident teaching general Science (Biology, Chemistry and Physics at KS3 and KS4 level), with the ability to adapt content to engage learners who may have previously disengaged from education.
