About the Role:
A growing and well-established accountancy practice in Shrewsbury is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to lead audit assignments, manage client relationships, and mentor junior staff. This is a client-facing role with significant responsibility and scope for professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage a portfolio of audit clients, ensuring high-quality service delivery
* Plan, lead, and review audit assignments from start to finish
* Act as the main client contact throughout the audit process, attending meetings pre- and post-audit
* Supervise, mentor, and review the work of audit seniors and trainees
* Liaise with partners on technical matters, deadlines, and client needs
* Identify opportunities to add value and support business development
* Ensure compliance with auditing standards, ethical requirements, and internal procedures
* Deliver assigned KPIs as agreed with the Audit Manager
Requirements:
* ACA or ACCA qualified
* Minimum three years’ experience in a similar audit role within an accountancy practice
* Proven ability to manage audits and client relationships effectively
* Strong technical audit knowledge and attention to detail
* Confident communicator with a professional and approachable manner
* Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise workload
* Experience supervising and developing junior team members
* Takes ownership of personal training and development
