Executive Assistant to Director (Buy-Side) – FCA
Division – Buy-Side. Salary: National (Edinburgh and Leeds) £52,400–£59,000 and London £57,700–£65,000 per annum (salary based on skills and experience).
The FCA regulates the conduct of 45,000 firms in the UK to ensure our financial markets are honest, fair and competitive. The Buy Side Directorate sets supervisory strategy policy and market insights for the asset management sector and drives policy for pensions. The Directorate covers large and small investment asset managers, and fund services like custodians and transfer agents. The role provides visibility of significant parts of the FCA’s work and a friendly, expert, data-rich team environment.
What will you be doing?
* Reporting to the Director, support the directorate to operate efficiently and effectively; deliver key messages to external stakeholders and act as a reliable partner for internal stakeholders
* Work closely with the Director and Heads of Department to develop core messages reflected in speeches, briefings and other material
* Monitor operational effectiveness (e.g., meeting SLAs) and proactively seek opportunities for improvement with an external audience in mind
* Develop and maintain the risk framework to support business planning
* Collaborate with the CEO’s and SPC Executive Director’s Office and other Executive Assistants to share best practice and ensure consistency across the Division and FCA

Skills and requirements

* Minimum: Prior experience in asset management or understanding of asset management; experience drafting written communications/briefings for senior stakeholders; experience working with senior individuals and building strong cross-team relationships
* Essential: Good understanding of how the FCA operates or willingness to learn quickly; ability to analyse and digest complex issues and provide practical recommendations; excellent verbal and written communication; discretion, confidence, and composure when dealing with sensitive situations; tenacity to question and challenge appropriately; flexibility to work under pressure and meet deadlines; strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
