About the Role
We are currently recruiting Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Ely on behalf of Outreach Staffing Solutions. This role is offered on a zero hours contract, providing flexible working opportunities to suit your availability.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising whole classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain on task with the work set by the teacher. This is a great opportunity for individuals considering a career in teaching, graduates, or those with experience working with young people.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise classes across Key Stages 3 and 4 during teacher absence.
* Ensure students remain engaged and on task with the lesson work provided.
* Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s behaviour policy.
* Provide clear instructions and maintain a focused learning environment.
* Report any issues or concerns to the relevant school staff.
* Provide feedback on lesson progress where required.
Requirements
* Experience working with young people or in a school environment is desirable.
* Strong communication and classroom management skills.
* Confidence supervising groups of students aged 11–16.
* Ability to follow school policies and maintain professional standards.
* A flexible and reliable approach to work.
* A degree or relevant qualification
