We’re looking for an experienced Interim Privacy Counsel to support a fast-growing technology group that has expanded through multiple acquisitions. You’ll play a key role in aligning and standardising data privacy and employment practices across several legal entities, helping the business operate with consistency and compliance as it scales.
About the Role
Interim Legal Counsel (Employment & Data Privacy) Contract, 3-6 months Mainly Remote, UK Based, with minimal travel to office in Berkshire may be required monthly.
Responsibilities
* Lead on data privacy and UK GDPR compliance, ensuring policies, processes, and data-sharing agreements are aligned across the group.
* Review and harmonise intercompany and employment-related documentation, including HR data handling and privacy notices.
* Advise on UK employment law issues where they intersect with privacy, policy, or organisational change.
* Support the creation of group-wide standards, templates, and governance processes.
* Partner with HR, IT, and leadership teams to provide pragmatic, business-focused advice.
* Manage and coordinate external counsel where necessary.
Qualifications
* Qualified lawyer
* Strong experience in data privacy / data protection law, ideally within a technology or multi-entity business.
* Good working knowledge of UK employment law.
* Confident operating autonomously in a remote-first environment.
* Collaborative, commercial, and solutions-driven approach.
