Water Resources Manager – 32733
Position within the Environment Agency responsible for leading the Water Resources department within Operations Catchment Services.
Responsibilities
* Lead a team of over 70 technical experts delivering national water resources services.
* Shape and scrutinise water company statutory Water Resource Management Plans.
* Provide expert input to the National Framework for Water Resources.
* Manage programmes to deliver sustainable abstraction.
* Lead drought planning and drought management efforts.
* Develop talent and skills in water planning.
* Oversee national modelling of water resources and groundwater.
* Champion health, safety and wellbeing, foster inclusion and support the growth and development of staff.
* Provide operational delivery of services, ensuring resources are used effectively and performance is demonstrable.
* Act as a member of the Operations Catchment Services Leadership Team.
Qualifications & Experience
* Authentic leadership experience, strong team focus, and proven ability to develop staff.
* Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
* Strategic thinker able to simplify complex, integrated business challenges.
* Working knowledge of water resources management and awareness of environmental, political and economic pressures affecting the sector.
* Experience leading large technical teams and delivering results to time, standards and organisational processes.
Location and Working Arrangements
The role can be based at any Environment Agency office across England. Flexible working patterns, including job share, are supported.
