Reimagine What’s Possible
We are seeking a Workshop Technician in Worcester, responsible for the refurbishment, modification, and testing of equipment required for Air Products' customer installations.
What will you do?
1. Process all work order equipment preparation to meet the requests assigned to the Worcester Workshop.
2. Prepare cryogenic storage tanks, pipework, and ancillary equipment for customer orders accurately and timely.
3. Undertake mechanical installation, testing, and refurbishment of pressure pipework and associated components on cryogenic tanks, maintaining relevant documentation.
4. Pick parts and equipment efficiently to replenish workbench Kanban and ensure equipment preparation meets customer demand deadlines.
5. Complete failure reports on equipment.
6. Assemble and refurbish nitrogen generators, compressors, and related equipment, keeping detailed records.
7. Organize tank refurbishment work and report progress to the workshop supervisor.
8. Perform oxygen cleaning activities on equipment as required.
9. Ensure compliance with all safety and operational standards, demonstrating understanding of cryogenic fundamentals.
10. Assist in investigations related to returns and complaints to identify common failure modes or user errors.
11. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
12. Support facility planned maintenance tasks as directed by the Workshop Supervisor.
What are we looking for?
1. Basic mechanical engineering experience, including pipework, fitting, pneumatics, fabrication, welding, soldering, and brazing.
2. Basic understanding of pressure vessels and related components such as safety devices, regulators, and valves.
3. Basic electrical knowledge.
4. Strong problem-solving skills.
5. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
