Senior Lighting Technician

We have a fantastic opening for a Senior Lighting Technician to join our Conventions team.
You will be working across our two convention centres, at the ICC in Birmingham City Centre and Vox on the NEC Campus in Solihull. These venues provide conference and meeting space for up to 8,000 delegates, welcoming over 350,000 delegates every year! And you will be part of a first-class team that is renowned for delivering incredible events.
About The Role
As Senior Lighting Technician you will be a team leader for the Technical department across convention venues, with responsibility for the day to day running of the technical delivery department.
You will provide technical support/expertise across all disciplines whilst ensuring a high level of service delivery from all staff and equipment during get ins, set ups, get outs and will also operate events as required alongside the Technicians.
Day to day you will:
1. Deliver events and work in close contact with the client and/ or the clients production company, following written instruction given by the Production/Event Manager for the successful delivery all events.
2. Working unsupervised and be responsible for all crew during live events.
3. Stay up to date with new products and technologies, identifying smarter ways of operating, developing staff, equipment, and planning resources so as to ensure the highest level of delivery is achieved.
4. To provide a specialist level of technical expertise across all areas of the event delivery with a focus being on Lighting.
About You
Our Ideal Candidate will:
5. Have significant proven experience and expertise in lighting within live event technical delivery.
6. Have strong leadership and people management skills with a focus of building motivated and engaged teams.
7. Strong customer focus and demonstrably proactive in approach - can do attitude.
8. Experience of working to financial targets
9. Confident, articulate, communicator possessing excellent written and verbal communication skills.
