A specialist school in Gateshead is looking for a BSL-trained Teaching Assistant to join their brilliant team. You’ll be supporting children and young people with hearing impairments and additional needs, making learning accessible, engaging, and inclusive from the very start.

What you’ll be doing:
* Using British Sign Language (BSL) to support pupils with hearing loss and communication needs
* Providing 1:1 and group support across a range of subjects and daily routines
* Supporting pupils’ emotional wellbeing and helping them engage confidently in the classroom
* Working closely with teachers, families, and external specialists
What we’re looking for:
* BSL Level 1 minimum (Level 1 or above preferred)
* Experience in SEND or deaf education settings
* A patient, adaptable approach and a genuine passion for inclusive learning
* Someone who values connection, trust, and small steps that lead to big wins
