Practice Nurse (30 - 37.5 hours per week)
We are looking for a skilled, experienced practice nurse with a strong background in general practice to join our friendly and well supported team at the Hollies Medical practice, caring for 15,000 patients. You will work alongside our senior practice nurse, other practice nurses, Nursing associates and healthcare assistants.
Main duties of the job
If you have experience in managing long term conditions, such as Diabetes, COPD, and asthma, delivering immunisations, cytology, spirometry, venepuncture and want a rewarding and varied role in primary care, this is the role for you.
The practice uses EMIS Web, and although experience in using this system is desirable training will be provided.
Essential: Current NMC registration and proven experience in general practice nursing.

Job responsibilities
To provide generaland specific health screening to the practice population, in line withagreed protocols and reference to the General Practitioner, wherenecessary.
Advise patients regardinggeneral health care and minor ailments, in person and on the telephone
Devise andimplement a programme of nursing care based on individual patient need, inconjunction with the patient.
Be responsible for managing clinics and carryingout associated tasks including the following:Cytology, travel vaccinations, ECGs,Spirometry, peak flow readings, venepuncture, management of long termconditions, ear syringing, childhood immunisations, chaperoningpatients who are being examined by another clinician, urine testing, dietaryadvice, anaphylaxis and CPR.
