Key Responsibilities Collaborate with the team to provide a safe and nurturing environment, supporting young people's positive development. Assist in the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring professional and competent delivery of care under the guidance of the Service Manager. Lead and support colleagues to provide therapeutic care tailored to each child's needs, promoting recovery, growth, and lasting change. Act as a positive role model for children and colleagues, building trusting relationships to meet everyday living needs. Record events, observations, and progress reports, contributing to the development and implementation of care plans. Ensure adherence to safeguarding procedures and organisational policies to promote the welfare of young people. Work flexibly, covering long day shifts, weekends, and sleep-in duties (approx. 4-8 per month). Candidate Requirements Essential : Minimum of 12 months' experience in children's residential care or knowledge of child-centred, therapeutic models. Essential : Level 3 qualification in Caring for Children and Young People (CYPW) or Residential Childcare. Essential : Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle. Excellent communication skills and a naturally caring, flexible, and resilient approach. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, young people, and external professionals. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Flexibility to work long day shifts, weekends, and sleep-in duties as required.
