About the Role
A vacancy has arisen for a Specialist Biomedical Scientist within Clinical Biochemistry. Our busy department operates over two sites, providing a 24/7 service to patients and service users. The department is an accredited training laboratory offering CPD and personal development opportunities. The laboratory is equipped with Roche analysers, and the specialist protein section utilises Sebia analysers.
Full participation in the 24/7 shift rota will be required after appropriate training. Consideration will also be given to exceptional candidates able to demonstrate HCPC registration within 6 months of start date.
Responsibilities
* Perform routine and specialist procedures in Clinical Biochemistry.
* Support healthcare professionals in diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and discharge of patients.
* Ensure the analytical and technical validity of investigations.
* Liaise with medical, scientific, administrative staff, and service users, including patients.
Candidate Requirements
* HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist with significant post-registration experience in Clinical Biochemistry.
* Ability to contribute to a continuous and comprehensive Clinical Biochemistry service.
* Ability to perform routine and specialist procedures.
* Exceptional candidates demonstrating HCPC registration within 6 months will be considered.
