Engineering Manager
Location: Suffolk
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
The Role
We are currently recruiting an Engineering Manager on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business operating within a regulated chemical environment.
Reporting into the Site Director, you will take full responsibility for site engineering operations, leading a small engineering team and ensuring plant reliability, safety, and performance are delivered in line with business KPIs.
This is a key leadership position, combining hands-on engineering involvement with strategic oversight to support operational excellence and future site development.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the site engineering function, ensuring delivery against EH&S, quality, service, cost, and OEE KPIs
* Maximise plant and equipment reliability to achieve best-in-class operational efficiency
* Ensure the Scheduled Maintenance Plan is executed, documented, and continuously improved
* Lead and support the design, specification, and installation of new plant and equipment
* Collaborate closely with Production to agree design criteria, equipment specifications, and risk assessments
* Coordinate engineering resources, contractors, and parts to deliver work safely and efficiently
* Promote a strong safety, performance, and continuous improvement culture
About You
* Experience working within a ATEX/DSEAR/COMAH/COMPEX regulated environment
* Proven leadership experience
* Highly organised, adaptable, and detail-focused
* Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
* Comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
