VIQU has partnered with a leading organisation specialising in advanced system integration within the nuclear sector to recruit a talented Hardware Engineer. Join a world-class team working on innovative projects in highly regulated environments across energy, water, renewables, and manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design hardware systems for control panels using proprietary components, focusing on PLCs, MCCs, Drives & Controls, and Switchgear.
* Prepare, review, and verify calculations and design documentation.
* Design electrical cabling and containment systems.
* Collaborate with production teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
* Travel occasionally for site surveys and customer support.
* Mentor and develop junior engineers and technicians.
* Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and industry regulations.
* Work confidently within multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Essential Requirements:
* Experience designing electrical panels containing PLCs and LV distribution systems.
* Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical and/or Eplan P8 - Pro-Panel.
* Competent with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
* Degree or HND in a relevant discipline, with project implementation experience.
* Must be eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC).
* Excellent communication skills for client engagement and mentoring.
* Knowledge of relevant safety and environmental legislation.
* Familiarity with BS7671 IEE latest Edition Wiring Regulations.
* Understanding of IEC BS EN 61439-1 standards.
Desirable Qualifications:
* Experience in highly regulated industries (nuclear, utilities, infrastructure).
* Knowledge of EMC practices.
* Working towards or holding Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status.
* MEng qualification.
* Site experience (survey/installation).
* Advanced English communication skills.
