Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people? Join our Family First Programme Partnership team as a Senior Engagement Worker and help prevent youth violence through early intervention, community engagement and family support. You'll manage a caseload of children and families, deliver strengths-based interventions, and work closely with partners to promote safety and community engagement.
We're looking for someone with experience in safeguarding, risk management, and multi-agency working, who can build strong relationships and advocate for families. You'll need to be a confident partnership worker, ready to work proactively with a range of statutory and VCSFE organisations. If you're resilient, creative, and committed to reducing violence and improving outcomes for young people, we'd love to hear from you. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a new role leading on the engagement of families in Oldham.
The Families First Partnership Programme (FFP) is a once in a generation chance to reshape Children's Social Care alongside the local authority, education, police, health, voluntary, faith, community groups and most importantly our residents, to change and improve our offer of help and protection. Through this work, we will create a system that delivers better experiences, stronger relationships, and lasting change—where families feel supported, professionals feel empowered, and children thrive.
Families First Partnership encourages services to work together and take a more joined-up, family-focused approach to early help and child protection. The programme focuses on:
* Giving the right Family Help at the right time
* Creating Multi-Agency Child Protection Teams (MACPTs)
* Using Family Group Decision Making to involve families in their own support
It is informed by a range of legislation and reviews including the Working Together to Safeguard Children framework and the findings from the MacAlister report, and its aim is to make sure children and families get the right support they need, when they need it.
This is a hybrid role, you will be working in a range of settings including our central Oldham office, in clients' homes and community settings within the South District according to business needs. For this role you will need to be confident in caseload management and the use of electronic recording systems.
If you have the required experience, are committed to making a difference and have great engagement skills with children, families and partners, then we look forward to receiving your application.
