* You are probably more of a product/ technicalCTO with some experience in data architecture as opposed toexperience in massively scaling tech teams or deep tech problemsolving
* You are comfortable with owning theproduct roadmap and balancing stakeholder needs across the businessand Europe
* You are ok with being the firstCTO.
About BikeClub
We have c.120 employees across fivemarkets (UK DE NL ES AT). Most of the company is based in Londonbut you will see significant growth in the European teams. There isa reasonable amount of travel in this role.
Wehave been scaling for four and a bit years. We are at Series B andhave a stable management team and offices in London BerlinBarcelona and Amsterdam. The UK business is beginning to stabiliseto profitability whilst the European business is in its high growthphase. We expect the European business to be larger than the UK inbusiness in the next two years.
We are buildinga leading consumer circular economy business. By removing linearconsumption we can seriously reduce our impact on the world.
We want to use our circular model to inspiretomorrows cyclists. To do this we aim to be a top three provider ofkids bikes In Europe. We want families to be able to join Bike Clubfrom Madrid to Berlin toLondon.

WhatWe Are Looking For:
It Is all aboutprofitable growth in Startup land right now. Investors are becomingless patient with Startups who cannot demonstrate profitability ona fundamental basis. Fortunately Bike Club has a good handle on itsunit economics and has strong data to prove this. But we are datahungry as a management team and like a hungry hippo we want more.We want a leader to join us and take control of the dataarchitecture Integrity and warehouse. It Is there but it needs somethought and strategy.
Then we can use some ofthis data to improve our service through our front end experience.We have already shipped a lot of good products but we want to unifyour international storefront and bring bike subscription online. Itsounds like a simple process but once you start looking at thechallenges it can become a surprisingly complex stack. We need youto lead us to the right front end solutions.
Bike Club relies on tens of thousands oftransactions with tens of thousands of members. We cannot treatthis like car rental (think of the enormous amount of paperwork yousign at the airport). It has to be seamless and automated. So weneed back end product to help our teams leverage and get more done.We need you to own the vision and strategy around this.
Finally as with all startups at this stage thereIs a neverending product road map. We want you to lead on theprioritisation by consulting with stakeholders and using yourjudgement.

Develop a comprehensive understanding of ourtechnological challenges formulate innovative solutions and guidethe strategic direction of our tech initiatives.
* Lead the charge in expanding our techfootprint across borders navigating different tech landscapes withease.
* Ensure that our technology roadmapaligns seamlessly with our longterm business objectives fosteringinnovation and sustainability.
InnovatingOperations:
Identify andcapitalize on tech optimization opportunities streamliningprocesses and enhancing our tech stack.
* Work with the COO to establishstandardized procedures and best practices to maximize operationalefficiency.
* Ensure smooth transitions andcomprehensive adoption of changes across all teams.
Enhancing UserExperience:
Collaborate with ourEngineering Director to develop a robust technical supportframework for seamless member assistance.
* Implement strategic technologicalenhancements to enhance user satisfaction and increase engagement.
Work with the Engineering Directorto ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience for our membersthrough technical support initiatives.
Tech QualityControl:
Establish qualitycontrol measures to uphold the integrity and reliability of ourtechnological platforms and systems.
* Lead the business on data integrityimplementing frameworks and processes to ensure the validity andaccuracy of data across all operations.
* Utilize data analytics and key performanceindicators to inform strategic decisionmaking driving continuousimprovement and optimization.
DataDriven DecisionMaking:
Delve into data uncovervaluable insights and leverage them to our growth.
* Create strategies based on data tobecome more efficient.
Product road map andstakeholder management:
Own theproduct road map and make clear recommendations on prioritisationand solution architecture
* Managestakeholders from across the business to weigh their needs versusthe commercial objectives of the wider group
Leadership andCollaboration:
Provide visionaryleadership to our engineering team (10 FTE) inspiring excellenceand fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
* Collaborate closely with ourexecutive leadership team to develop and execute strategictechnological initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
* Facilitate crossfunctional collaborationfostering synergy and alignment across departments to achievecollective objectives.
Commercialawareness:
We have some greatengineers and a good culture in the team we need you to providecommercial awareness andleadership.
