An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and self-motivated band 8A pharmacist to join our team at Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to influence and manage change. You must have extensive hospital pharmacy experience. Previous ophthalmic pharmacy experience, though an advantage, is not required however, a solid background in clinical pharmacy and experience in managing staff and monitoring medicine expenditure would be essential.
Main duties of the job
As a senior member of the pharmacy team, the post holder will be:
* Leading on the delivery and development of high quality medicines management initiatives to Moorfields satellite units across the Moorfields South Division in line with local and national objectives
* Developing KPIs and monitoring adherence to contracts, safe and economical use of medicines, and conducting clinical research and audits
* Managing a team of dedicated satellite pharmacy staff, coordinating cover and providing training support to pharmacy, nursing and medical staff
* Managing the on-going generic savings and contracts, identifying cost pressure/saving and ensuring local procurement processes and procedures are in place
* Supporting the Associate Chief Pharmacist in:
o service development
o the implementation of novel medicine supply systems
o the delivery of various pharmacy projects e.g. Cost Improvement Programmes (CIPs)
