The role oversees all operational aspects of a Papa Johns restaurant to ensure profitability. It requires a self-sufficient leader who makes quality decisions, and proper planning, forecasting, and systems are in place. The role also involves managing operations to execute company policies, procedures, programs, and systems and ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and ethical business practices.
Responsibilities
* Monitor product quality and customer service standards, identify deficiencies, and address issues with direct reports. Respond professionally to customer concerns, solicit feedback, share feedback with the team, and use it to improve operations and build brand loyalty. Oversee training and execution of quality standards.
* Oversee recruiting efforts to meet staffing needs and ensure compliance with uniform and appearance standards. Establish and communicate performance expectations and conduct performance reviews. Document performance issues and take disciplinary action up to termination. Coach and develop direct reports and foster teamwork, energy, and fun, including implementing team member recognition programs.
* Manage sales goals against budget and prior year by ensuring prompt, friendly service; monitor and address deficiencies in sales trends such as ticket average and order frequency. Seek additional sales through traditional and non-traditional methods by executing local marketing and building a positive community presence.
* Manage profit goals against budget and prior year; ensure food, labor, and other controllable costs stay within budget, and correct deviations using the FOCUS System. Develop and implement plans to resolve unfavorable trends and improve profits. Execute administrative and cash management duties. Plan and manage inventory levels to meet sales demands and minimize loss. Ensure the restaurant is clean, fully equipped, and safety standards are maintained; oversee preventative maintenance and repairs when necessary.
Education, Experience & Certifications
* Two years of successful restaurant management or supervision experience preferred.
* High school diploma (or equivalent) required.
* Serv-Safe/Local/State Food Service Certification.
* Basic accounting including invoice reconciliation and financial statement analysis.
* Cash management skills.
* Bilingual in certain markets.
* Must have a driver’s license valid under the laws of the state(s) where the team member works, insurance, satisfactory vehicle and ability to drive.
* Must be 18 years of age or older.
* Must be able to work long hours (50+ per week), including nights and weekends, and as needed for emergencies.
* Analytical skills: effectively use data to generate insights for operations excellence.
