Home Therapies Clinical Nurse Specialist
Band 6 - 37.5 hours per week
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic renal nurse to join the Home Therapies Renal Team at Liverpool University Hospitals working across the Royal Liverpool Hospital and Aintree sites.
We are looking for a Home Therapies Renal Nurse Specialist to provide a quality service to patients who choose to have dialysis at home on either HD or PD. We are seeking to recruit an individual with excellent communication skills, along with extensive post registration experience in renal replacement therapies and evidence of professional and personal development to degree level, or equivalent specialist study/experience.
The Home Dialysis Team is working to provide training and support for patients choosing to have dialysis at home. This is a growing service that aims to provide the highest standard of care for patients through ongoing education and support, both in hospital and at home.
Community work is required for this role; therefore a full driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential for applicants.

Key Responsibilities
* Deliver and support home dialysis services (HD and PD) for patients across the Liverpool University Hospitals network.
* Provide clinical supervision and training to patients and carers for self‑management of home dialysis.
* Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives.
* Recognise and respond to changes in patient clinical status and implement appropriate interventions.
* Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and ensure confidentiality and compliance with NHS standards.
Qualifications and Experience
* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and post registration experience in renal replacement therapies.
* Evidence of continuous professional development and specialist study/experience, ideally to degree level.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient‑focused approach.
* Full driving licence and access to a vehicle to enable community visits.
