JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Residential Child Care Support Worker with the ability to engage with children and teenagers who have complex emotional needs, along with good communication and time-management skills.
As a Residential Child Care Support Worker, you will join a brand-new residential children’s home, playing a vital role in supporting the delivery of a professional, child-centred service.
You will act as a corporate parent, ensuring the welfare and safety of children and young people, and provide high-quality support to ensure the best outcomes.
Opportunities are available for both experienced Support Workers with a background in children or young people, and individuals with transferable skills and a desire to positively impact young people’s lives.
DUTIES
* Take on the role of a corporate parent, providing children and young people with love and guidance.
* Build meaningful relationships with children and young people who have had complex early lives.
* Act immediately when the welfare or safety of children or young people is at risk.
* Advocate for the wishes, thoughts, and feelings of children and young people.
* Deliver high-quality support and guidance to promote the best outcomes for children in placement.
* Support the Homes Manager to exceed expectations during inspections and Regulation 44 visits.
* Be flexible and willing to participate in activities with children and young people and attend appointments.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
* Professional qualification in (recognised and current) QCF Level 3 in Residential Childcare, or equivalent, or willingness to work towards this within statutory timescales.
* Ability to engage with children and teenagers with complex emotional needs.
* Previous experience in Social Care is desirable but not essential.
* Ability to work required shift patterns, including weekends, overnights, late shifts, and bank holidays.
