We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Coffee Shop Assistant to join our family-run coffee shop based within an independent garden centre. This role involves delivering exceptional customer service while preparing and serving high-quality food and drinks to our valued customers.

The position is part time and must be available weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and serve a range of hot beverages including espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, and other specialty drinks
* Prepare and serve simple food items such as sandwiches, paninis, toasties, and a selection of cakes
* Take customer orders accurately and efficiently
* Provide warm, friendly, and professional customer service
* Maintain a clean, organised, and well-presented coffee bar area
* Operate coffee machines and related equipment safely and effectively
* Assist with basic food preparation
* Manage and replenish stock as required
* Handle cash and card transactions whilst maintaining an accurate till
* Carry out opening and closing duties
Requirements:
* Previous barista or similar experience is preferred but not essential
* Excellent customer service and communication skills
* Ability to work efficiently during busy periods
* Ability to work unsupervised where necessary
* Basic numeracy skills for cash handling and order accuracy
* Understanding of food hygiene and cleanliness standards
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
