About You
You are an experienced Engineering Manager with a strong background in leading multi-disciplinary teams across Mechanical, Electrical and Software engineering. You set clear expectations, drive accountability and foster a collaborative, high-performance culture.
You have solid experience in product definition, including drawings, models and BOMs,(bill of materials) with a focus on accuracy, compliance and on-time delivery. Commercially aware, you work confidently with Sales and customers to support new opportunities and quotations. You understand DFMA, cost reduction through engineering change and structured problem-solving, and you use KPIs to drive performance and continuous improvement. Knowledge of quality systems, CE marking and reducing non-conformances is essential.
You communicate effectively across R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain and Sales, influencing decisions with a practical, solution-focused approach.
About the Role
You will lead the team to deliver accurate, on-time product definitions and technical outputs that meet business and customer requirements. This includes managing processes for WIS/job briefs, drawings, models and BOMs, and coordinating cross-functional inputs to ensure documentation accuracy for new orders.
A key focus will be continuous improvement, reducing cost, improving efficiency and achieving "right first time" performance through DFMA, engineering change and robust review processes. You will monitor KPIs across cost, quality and delivery, and take action where needed.
Working closely with R&D, you will ensure designs are manufacturable, aligned to capability and cost targets, and smoothly transferred into production. You will also support strong quality and compliance standards, collaborating with Quality and Manufacturing to reduce non-conformances and warranty issues.
ABG welcomes applications from all who meet the criteria and is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion.
If you're ready for your next career step, we'd love to hear from you.
