A global engineering organisation operating in advanced power conversion and electrification systems is expanding its service engineering capability. We are looking to appoint multiple Lead Electrical Systems Engineers to support complex, high-performance systems across critical infrastructure and industrial environments.
These roles play a key part in delivering and enhancing installed systems, providing strong technical leadership across service, commissioning, and upgrade activities, and acting as a senior technical interface with customers.
Open technical focus areas include:
* Marine & Offshore
* Power Systems
* Switchboards & Protection
* Substation Automation
Key Responsibilities
* Provide technical leadership to multi-disciplinary engineering teams covering power systems, power conversion, automation, control, and mechanical integration.
* Act as a senior technical authority for service activities, including commissioning, testing, fault investigation, and system upgrades.
* Support the planning and execution of service engineering projects, ensuring delivery aligns with contractual, regulatory, quality, and safety requirements.
* Collaborate closely with service, commissioning, and third-party teams to deliver effective customer solutions.
* Manage technical aspects of service projects, including documentation, design reviews, risk management, change control, and budget oversight.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives and cost-reduction activities in collaboration with wider engineering and operational teams.
* Provide technical input and mentoring across the service engineering function where required.
Skills & Experience
We recognise that candidates may not meet every requirement — a strong mix of the following is sought:
* Experience in a senior or lead engineering role within a service or lifecycle support environment.
* Background in application or systems engineering within power engineering, electrical drives, automation, or grid-connected systems.
* Hands‑on experience specifying or working with equipment such as drives, motors, transformers, switchboards, and protection systems.
* Proven experience in system design and integration on complex, multi‑disciplinary projects.
* Exposure to power generation, conversion, transmission, or distribution, particularly within service, retrofit, or upgrade programmes.
* Strong knowledge of LV and MV variable speed drives and motor systems.
* Ability to lead technical teams, manage competing priorities, and deliver within tight schedules.
* Excellent communication skills with a customer‑focused approach to problem solving.
Qualifications
* Degree qualified in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent experience within industry).
What’s on Offer
* Opportunity to work on advanced and innovative electrification and drive system technologies.
* Involvement in technically challenging, large‑scale, and often international projects.
* Flexible working options and a culture that supports work‑life balance.
* Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
* Strong emphasis on professional development and long‑term career progression within a global engineering environment.
