What skills and experience we're looking for
About You:
The successful applicant must demonstrate a proven track record of working with secondary age children, with recent and substantial school leadership experience, such as Headteacher, Assistant Head, or Deputy Head. They should be committed to providing a high-quality education and environment for children. Confidence, empathy, and a focus on building a healthy workplace culture to benefit staff and pupils are essential.
In addition, you will:
1. Be a resilient and credible leader with a strong moral compass, inspiring confidence during change.
2. Have a deep understanding of school improvement areas such as curriculum, behaviour, attendance, and outcomes for disadvantaged students.
3. Possess strong financial acumen and experience leading structural or organisational change.
4. Exhibit exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to build trust and lead effectively.
5. Have experience leading a large secondary school, preferably within a federation or trust model.
6. Possess strategic vision with the practical ability to deliver improvements and manage complexity.
