Dispatch Operative

£25,500 Per Annum
Our long-standing and highly respected client, based in Newbury, is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dispatch Operative to join their expanding team.
Dispatch Operative Roles and Responsibilities:
* Accurately pick, pack, and prepare components for dispatch in line with sales orders
* Cross-check items against purchase orders and packing lists to ensure order accuracy
* Correctly label all packages with the appropriate customer and shipment details
* Coordinate courier collections and deliveries with freight and logistics partners
* Monitor shipment progress and proactively resolve any delivery issues or delays
* Update inventory records and stock levels following dispatch
* Conduct regular cycle counts and stock checks to ensure inventory accuracy
Dispatch Operative Ideal Candidate:
* Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
* Experience using shipping platforms and logistics or inventory software
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
* Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet dispatch deadlines
* Competent with basic IT systems, ideally including ERP or warehouse management systems (WMS)
Dispatch Operative Working Hours and Benefits:
* Monday to Thursday 08:30 – 17:00
* Friday 08:30 – 16:00
* Pension scheme: the employee typically puts in 5% and the company will contribute 3%
* Medicash
* 25 days holiday plus bank holiday
* This holiday allowance will increase after 8 years of service with another day added on from the 9th year for 5 years up to maximum of 30 days holiday
* Both pizza and breakfast are provided by the company once a month
