Mechanical Engineering Supervisor – Port Talbot
Salary circa £50,000. Day-based role focused on mechanical reliability within a modern, high-volume production facility serving blue-chip and specialist customers.
Responsibilities
* Planning and delivering scheduled mechanical maintenance
* Supporting and overseeing mechanical breakdown response
* Leading and supervising engineers, apprentices and contractors
* Driving health and safety compliance and maintenance systems
* Completing root cause analysis and implementing long-term fixes
* Supporting machinery upgrades and site improvement projects
* Working closely with production and other site functions
Requirements
* Strong mechanical engineering background, ideally HNC or HND qualified
* Experience within FMCG or high-volume manufacturing environments
* Proven fault-finding and breakdown experience
* Previous experience leading or supervising engineering teams
* A hands-on, proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills
* Good communication skills and the ability to manage priorities
Desirable/Benefits
* Experience with machining, welding, CAD or BRC environments would be beneficial but not essential
