Offer description

We are seeking an experienced and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join a dedicated secondary school in Heywood. This is a vital role for someone who is passionate about supporting young people, improving behaviour, and helping students re-engage positively with school life.

Working closely with Senior Leadership Team (SLT) members, you will play a key part in managing behaviour interventions, supervising the isolation room, and providing targeted support to students with challenging behaviour.

Key Responsibilities

* Work alongside the SLT to implement behaviour strategies and interventions

* Supervise the isolation room and support students during reflection periods

* Build positive relationships with students who display challenging behaviour

* Offer one-to-one or small group mentoring to encourage emotional regulation

* Record and monitor behaviour incidents and progress

* Act as a calm, consistent presence during high-pressure situations

* Support teaching staff with behaviour management where needed

About You

* Essential: Previous experience working with challenging behaviours

* Strong communication and de-escalation skills

* Calm, confident, and able to set firm boundaries

* Empathetic yet assertive, with a passion for supporting young people

* Ability to remain professional and composed at all times

* Experience in a school or youth support environment is highly desirable

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
