Description
As a key member of the Business Analysis team, you will collaborate with various business units to identify necessary changes and assess what is required to achieve their goals. In this role, you will lead Business As Usual (BAU) activities and manage smaller change requests using Agile software development principles, while actively engaging with stakeholders to gather, consolidate, and communicate requirements from subject matter experts (SMEs).
Key Responsibilities
1. Facilitate and manage BAU activities and smaller change requests using agile software development principles, being the primary contact between the business and the analysis team.
2. Actively contribute to strategic projects under the guidance of the BA Manager, focusing on gathering requirements, documentation, and process mapping, ensuring all deliverables meet the needs of the business.
3. Facilitate and, where necessary, organise SCRUM meetings, including daily stand-ups, retrospectives, product backlog reviews, and sprint planning sessions.
4. Seek, create, and maintain business requirements documentation - primarily user stories, capturing all necessary requirements from stakeholders and subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure clarity and alignment.
5. Take ownership of documenting process changes and ensuring all documentation remains current, accurate, and in compliance with organisational standards.
6. Work closely with the Training Manager to ensure that training materials align with documented processes, facilitating effective training delivery across the business.
7. Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, gathering their input and managing expectations regarding delivery and timelines.
8. Identify and participate in process improvement initiatives, contributing ideas for enhancing operational efficiency and effectiveness.
9. Organise and facilitate workshops and small working group meetings for requirements gathering and clarification of proposed changes.
10. Ensure compliance with the agreed business framework and agile business analysis standards in all outputs and processes, maintaining high documentation quality.
11. Provide timely and accurate support to the agile IT Development teams, ensuring they have the necessary information for project execution.
12. Effectively manage stakeholder expectations regarding delivery dates and any potential delays through proactive communication.
13. Embrace challenges and actively seek feedback to continually improve personal performance and contribute to team success.
14. Provide verbal and written updates to management on the progress of work and upcoming initiatives.
15. Engage in performance management processes, preparing for and participating in appraisals aligned with the current performance management framework.
16. Perform any other duties reasonably assigned by the Line Manager.
Core Skills and Knowledge
Essential
17. Must have more than 2 years of experience in a business analysis role within an Agile IT/change commercial environment.
18. Demonstrates a solid understanding of change management and project management principles, including methodologies and best practices.
19. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex information and generate actionable insights.
20. Proven experience in participating in the entire project lifecycle, from initiation through to implementation and closure.
21. Experience in gathering, documenting, and managing business requirements using agile methods, including liaising with 3rd party vendors and stakeholders to ensure alignment.
22. Skilled in authoring business analysis documents, including Business Process Mapping, Functional Requirements Documents, Business Cases, and Test Cases, using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
23. Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to effectively convey information to stakeholders at all levels, negotiate requirements, and foster collaborative discussions.
24. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams and external partners.
25. Strong organisational skills with the ability to effectively plan and prioritise tasks, managing time efficiently to meet deadlines.
26. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Visio, Powerpoint).
27. Demonstrable experience in facilitating workshops and meetings, guiding discussions to elicit requirements and feedback.
28. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience in working within Agile project environments.
Desirable
29. Experience working within the financial services industry, understanding its regulations, practices, and challenges.
